2002
- January - DayJet is founded (known then as Jetson Systems) to fill a market void for affordable and scalable on-demand regional air transportation.
- April - DayJet formulates first Real-Time Routing algorithms, used to allocate fleet resources to new reservation requests in just seconds.
- June - DayJet engages Georgia Tech as research partner, introducing a new field of academic study in the area of real-time operations research.
- July - DayJet signs large, five-year order with Eclipse Aviation for 1,400 Eclipse 500 very light jets; the company will take delivery of more than 300 Eclipse 500 jets within its first two years of operation.
- October - DayJet begins constructing its predictive demand model, or Agent Based Model, used to identify underserved markets with strong demand for per-seat, on-demand jet services.
2003
- April - DayJet pioneers Time-Value Pricing concept, allowing individuals to tailor travel for their time and budget needs.
- June - DayJet embarks on three-year market research program for per-seat, on-demand jet service, encompassing over 1,500 business travelers and corporate buyers across 11 Southeastern states.
- November - DayJet finishes development of its Agent Based Model (version 1.0), used to simulate and predict demand for Southeastern regional business travel.
2004
- January - DayJet develops what many consider to be the first fully simulated business plan using its predictive demand model (Agent Based Model) and Real-Time Routing algorithms.
- August - DayJet completes its third phase of market research, revealing that corporate buyers are just as eager to try per-seat, on-demand jet service as business travelers.
- September - DayJet finishes development of its online reservation system (version 1.0), which includes end-to-end reservation functionality and ability for individuals to tailor travel for their time and budget needs.
2005
- February - DayJet closes private equity funding for $8 million.
- April - DayJet comes out of stealth mode, officially announcing company and plans for world's first per-seat, on-demand jet service to outside world.
- August - DayJet launches its Virtual Operations Center (VOC), which fully simulates all aspects of DayJet operations - from demand and fleet optimization, to flight operations and financial projections.
- August - DayJet adds automated disruption handling capabilities to its Real-Time Routing algorithms, another industry first.
- November - DayJet completes market research study with 1,400 business travelers and corporate buyers; half are willing to try per-seat, on-demand jet service.
2006
- March - DayJet's first Eclipse 500 very light jet goes onto the Eclipse production line (aircraft #2).
- April - DayJet announces it will launch per-seat, on-demand jet service in the Southeastern U.S.
- June - DayJet announces the first five Florida DayPort markets where per-seat, on-demand jet service will be offered: Boca Raton, Lakeland, Gainesville, Tallahassee and Pensacola. The company also begins to accept customers into its membership program.
- November - DayJet's pilot and maintenance training curriculum is approved by the FAA. The company's maintenance team also completes Eclipse training, becoming the world's first VLJ-trained maintenance technicians.
2007
- February - DayJet hires its first cadre of check airmen pilots.
- March - DayJet receives its first three Eclipse 500 very light jets. The company also closes $50 million in private equity funding, placing it among the best capitalized per-operational passenger air carriers in U.S. aviation history.
- April - DayJet's first 20 pilots complete Eclipse 500 type certification and training.
- August - DayJet closes $140 million in debt financing for its fleet of Eclipse 500 jets. Combined with previous rounds of private equity financing, the company has raised more than $200 million to date.
- August - DayJet receives FAA approval to operate Eclipse 500 VLJ fleet.
- September - DayJet begins flying first revenue passengers.
- October - DayJet officially launches world's first per-seat, on-demand jet service.
